MILL WORKSPACE
Keen to create a workspace for a rapidly growing team, this client asked
RE-VIVE to help them in making the most of their incredible mill workspace.
The space is flooded with natural light from the skylights and large factory
style windows; the main office is a large open plan space that was to house 20
employees, a large team meeting room, phone booths and breakout areas.
Privacy and zoning were really key factors of this brief so the
challenge lay in breaking up the space without blocking the natural
light. A series of bespoke freestanding dividers with fluted perspex
refracts the light to create colourful distortions and blurred outlines. A
range of foliage was used to create vibrant scatters of green through
the ribbed perspex whilst also providing more privacy as the grow.
Large planted dividers between desks were introduced to
increase the humidity in this top-floor workspace as the previously
dry air was having a negative effect on employee’s health
and wellbeing. The once large open office space was void of
directional cues. Now, a series of pathways encourages employees
to interact with the space, keeping them alert and focused.
Being a Global business, it was important that staff had a place
to take private calls, with the option to move away from their desks.
Phonebooths finished in natural oak veneer keep this space
feeling warm, professional and welcoming.
