ibis styles, seven kings
Each Ibis Styles hotel has its own unique design, theme and personality.
For this new build development in Seven Kings, London, the theme was
‘An Oasis in the City’; RE-VIVE worked with Accor to create a full design
package for all areas in the hotel including all 170 bedrooms, corridors, stairs,
lifts and lobby reception area plus a multi-use meeting room space.
A moodboarding process helped us to define what an oasis in the
city might look like: lots of greenery & natural materials of course,
with light-hearted pops of humour; the design is calming in areas
and energising in others - this was key to getting the balance
right and appealing to a diverse target market.
The bedroom brief was a nature-inspired room that will make
you want to hibernate all year long. A lollypop headboard finished
in green velvet, reminiscent of rolling green hills, paired with the
&Tradition Flowerpot pendant creates a playful yet relaxing space.
A custom designed carpet covers the floor like a bed of leaves.
The hotel has various soft seating areas for working, relaxing,
socialising and eating. There’s a long banquette seating area and large
natural edge wood tables for group meals or informal meetings. The
soft furnishings and upholstery choices give subtle nods to the concept;
black & white checked cushions are evocative of summer picnic
blankets and the bespoke carpets running through the corridors
resemble the natural wood grain found in sections of trees.
A multi-use space is separated from the open plan lobby with
a large Crittall-style sliding door. The large table hosts a breakfast
buffet in the morning and offers a hireable meeting space for up to
12 people. A key marker for an Ibis Styles hotel is the guest photo
spot; an immersive green wall with the neon hashtag creates
that ever-important Instagram shot. #opentocreativity
